That seems the best idea; I'm sure Christos would approve.

I'm a little concerned about the role of ssl and its ramifications, Steve.
It was introduced for domain login support, and it's adding a wrinkle to
FreeTDS's redistributability.

I take it that FreeTDS, being a library and not "linked" to anything, can
rely on libssl and still remain a redistributable binary. But, any
application that links to FreeTDS winds up linking libssl (unless not so
configured) and cannot then be distributed as a binary?

That would be unfortunate. If I may say so, I'd rather see FreeTDS live in
the LGPL world and so encourage GPL applications. To that end, I hope your
gnutls investigation bears fruit.

While we're on the subject, freebcp is LPGL, too, copyright BB. Was that
intentional, or should that also be GPL, and subject to the same problems?
