oh wait, sorry, i had my counting crows cd on too loud, i think i
missed this post from a couple hours ago. i was rocking out hard. in
fact i was just re-dreading my hair and planning where exactly that
fiery skull tattoo should go.
i agree. music is lacking around here.
when not jamming out air-guitar style to G3, i listen exclusively to
Hem of His Garment. they play a lot of notes. a whole lot.
i apologize roger, i'm just playing. i'm on vacation this week and yes
there is some beer involved, but i still find myself drawn to this
blast email addiction.
to tell you the honest truth, it's all just hidden underneath the
surface. give it a second and you'll start uncovering some solid,
local talent. most of it does not present itself in the more
mainstream venues, it tends to hide along the alleyways. that's the
beauty of our area. if you poke around a bit, you'll find that we're a
rich area for music. we have two strange things happening. the below-
the-surface music is top notch and or local "pop" music is also
phenomenal. what you'll also find is that all these bands share
members and get along ridiculously well, thus enriching our "scene"
even more. each musician has the ability to explore his or her own
outlet without feeling self-conscious or limited to something they
feel an audience wants to hear.
spend some time walking around. walk into the bar you wouldn't have
otherwise walked into, drive over to durham for a second and get lost,
head over to the local music and beer showcase at tir na nog on
thursday night in raleigh. borrow a hangover. go even if you didn't
dig the bands' music on their webpage. they're different live.
i can promise you we have some bands that will knock you over, you
just have to seek them out, they will not be handed to you.
have you listened to Cantwell Gomez & Jordan yet?
the Maple Stave?
Grappling Hook?
Pulsoptional?
All Your Science?
Tooth?
Un Deux Trois?
Jenks Miller?
Whatever Brains?
maybe if we concentrate loud enough we'll manifest a RAZZLE reunion
even???
have you listened to WXDU? WKNC?
there are a lot of skillz here.
you will find them. welcome to the area!!!!
