Well,

glancing through the blog for a moment before running out to work, I
have a few comments:

If you are going to call the blog "Triangle Rock" with the innuendo
that you are referring to the NC Triangle, then you should focus
primarily (or exclusively) on the Triangle. Start with the Links
section. Order the links by relevance. I have no problem with a link
to StereoGum, but why is it at the top and not Menconi or the Indy?

I also have a personal bias towards radio and bristle when I see some
"what the hell??" non-local radio station linked but none of the
actual locals. All three of the local college stations have people
that bust their asses to get good local bands on the air, and the
omission on your page indicates a lack of understanding of how actual
"music scenes" have worked over the decades.

On to the actual writing. Menconi wrote about the Great 8 a little
while back. The Grayson fired back from the Indy. The interweb was
ablaze with discussion. Mann's World covered it, and there were
multiple threads here and there discussing it. Where's your take?

Try and at least balance what you write about to reflect some of the
aspects of the Triangle Music scene. If neither of you dig blast-
core, then find someone that can do it for you. Or link to the pre-
existing blogs that are already covering it. At the very least, don't
just talk about major shows that are coming to Charlotte or past their
creative relevancy bands that have since moved off to Charleston.

Or the simplest thing to do is to change the name of the blog. Right
now, it just comes off as a disingenuous tool for self-
somethingoranother. Anyone connected to the non-mainstream music
world will look at the blog and know that you either have no idea what
you are talking about, or are just pimping off the 90's seattle-buzz
until you get picked up in a bigger market where you can make more
money.

I'd prefer to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you
just aren't sure about what's happening around here. I can start you
off with a tour of WXDU's facilities and then suggest that you make an
appearance at the WXYC-WXDU Prom coming up in April. Then consider
taking Glenn out to lunch sometime and pick his brain about local
bands. Get a bunch of speed or energy drinks and powerbars, Google
Ross Grady and read for 48 hours. In the meantime, I'll make you an
mp3 mix of all his voice-breaks over the past few years, speed it up a
bit so you can get through it faster and then GO! By that time, you
should have to first real glimpses into the brilliance of what's going
on around here and all this other stuff will just seem dull in
comparison.
