See this:

Not only is it one of the least expensive places to
stay in Durham that is not a shooting gallery, it's
also one of the cleanest (it mainly serves people who
have come to Durham to tend to relatives who are
patients in Duke Hospital, hence cheap and clean), and
also directly across the street from Duke "North." The
closest dorm is Trent about a block away. To get to
west campus, go into the hospital parking garage
across the street from the Brookwood, go the to
basement and take the monorial to Duke "South," get
out and go up to ground level, and the nearest exit
should put you out on the Perkins Library side of the
quad next to the chapel, Page Auditorium (where ADF is
currently going on), and the Bryan Center (where more
ADF is currently going on). That is, you can get from
the Brookwood to the heart of west campus by walking
less than a block. From west campus, hop a free
shuttle bus in front of the chapel to get to east
campus (to visit ADF workshops and studios). The bus
also goes right by the brand new Nasher art museum,
which has been getting some pretty high marks.
