oh my god , it's all starting to make sense...

artists have been living off Duchamp for years. I'll go out on a limb,
the "readymade" or more pecisely the already made, which is basically
the idea of changing the meaning and function of an object by moving it
into a foreign context, making it something "strange" is the most
important concept driving all the arts for the last 80 years and it
keeps working when done well, but it's OLD. I think all the above are
more or less nothing without this idea. Strangeness is central to why
so much good or bad music art or what have you, gets made. We want to
feel alienated, before we can feel anything from art.
