I mean, think about it, companies are copyrighting phrases like "have
it your way" and pretty soon you won't' be able to talk without giving
money to some corporation. I dont' think anyone has copyrighted "have
a nice day" yet, if anyone on this list wants to become a quick
millionaire.

Ah yes, good call. You know, when I worked for Joe Boxer, their logo
was a smiley face with a tongue licking out. The reason for this was
because the 'smiley face' icon itself was *not copyrightable*, so JB
created their version, named it "Lickey", and obtained a copyright for
any smiley face that had a tongue.
That said, I've noticed that for the past few years that Wal-Mart has
used a smiley face icon exclusively. I wonder what would happen if
another company started using it as well. Wal-Mart is such a large
monster, I wonder if somehow they were able to obtain a copyright for
it. If not, it might be cool if someone else just took it over...
