We are looking for a full-time manager to work with us at the Empowerment
Project, a non-profit media production, distribution and activist
organization in Chapel Hill, NC.
The job involves a variety of activities, including: coordinating sales,
distribution, outreach and publicity efforts; initiating & developing
relationships with activist organizations to encourage and facilitate the
use of documentary videos as organizing, informational, and fundraising
tools for peace and justice issues; developing DVD versions of videos;
coordinating interns and volunteers; basic office administration; website
development & maintenance; graphic design and desktop publishing;
fundraising & grant-writing; arranging & coordinating speaking appearances
for director Barbara Trent.
The following skills are valued: strong organizational and supervisory
skills, activism and community organizing, basic knowledge of video
production, computer graphics, grant writing. Starting salary to $450/week
based on experience. Minimum two-year commitment. Send resumé to be
