i think ray davies has been pretty outspoken in his embrace of british
tradition. doesn't surprise me at all he's accepted a royal honor.
"arthur" was pretty much full of his philosphy on it. he was never one
to wear the rebel badge like keith richards, et.al. at least as far as
"land of hope and gloria" go.

on the shooting part, i bet ray wishes he'd consulted with chris
chamis on the protocol for encounters with dangerous thieves with guns
(meant in the most gentle teasing and affectionate way possible). was
it about 7 years to the month you were shot in a similar manner chris?
