Hi Paul (and all)

A while back, I wrote to Jane Hornibrook as to the use of a Creative
Commons Attribution 3.0 New Zealand license for Staff Contribution
Guidelines that have been developed for SSC's fairly new blog called "In
Development". For more information on that, please see
http://blog.e.govt.nz/index.php/2008/03/13/staff-contribution-guidelines
-for-in-development-creative-commons-style/ To see use of the Creative
Commons licence terms in the object itself, see the footer in page 1 of
the Guidelines (under the table of contents):
http://blog.e.govt.nz/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/staff-contribution-guid
elines.pdf

On an entirely separate, and personal, note, I use a Creative Commons
Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 New Zealand License on
my personal blog at www.onlineandlawful.co.nz. You can see my use of the
license by looking at the footer at the bottom of the page.

Kind regards

After an overwhelming silence on list and off list I thought I may
rephrase my question

Who in New Zealand is using a CC-NZ license?

What is your URL?

Should the CC-NZ website attempt to list them (while there is only a
handful) I am interested to see best practice - how it is done on the
page and in the HTML, (and even in the object - if it is say a PDF)

And to show people in a presentation (tomorrow) examples close to home.

Should the CC-NZ website have a CC-NZ license - instead of the "(c) 2007
Humanities Research Network"

http://wiki.creativecommons.org/CC_markers etc

Is there a list of NZ sites using any CC lisences??

Hi Jane

Seems I should, perhaps, have sent the email below to your gmail address
rather than the creativecommons address below?

Kind regards

Dear Jane

I understand you've touched base with SSC's Anthony Hawkins in
connection with the next stage of the Creative Commons New Zealand web
project. In particular, I understand you're working on collecting case
studies and articles on those who are using CCNZ licenses.

As Anthony is flat out, I've offered to fill the gap.

As it turns out, the timing of your email to Anthony couldn't have been
better. Just today, SSC released a blog called "In Development"
(http://blog.e.govt.nz). Prior to its release, we prepared Staff
Contribution Guidelines for staff contributing to the blog. Among other
things, the Guidelines deal with the nature of blogging, guidelines
around staff contributions, and contain instructions on how to add posts
to the blog.

It occurred to us that these Guidelines could be useful for other State
Services agencies setting up such sites as well as for non-governmental
agencies in the same position. As such, it has been decided that SSC
will release these Guidelines online to the world at large under the
most permissive form of Creative Commons New Zealand licence (i.e., a
Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 New Zealand License). As far as I am
aware, this is the first - and somewhat exploratory - use of a CCNZ
licence by the State Services Commission.

I have already drafted a post about this for the blog referred to above
and that post, which will provide a link to the Guidelines, should go
live shortly.

If there's anything else we can do to assist, please don't hesitate to
let me know.

Kind regards
