For the avoidance of doubt - what I mean to suggest is for works to enter the
public domain after a particular period of time. This is not a suggestion of
compromise on NC or ND, but rather an option that could apply to any
CC-licensed work if the author desires. To avoid making things too
complicated, perhaps this could be presented under an "other options" rather
than on the license main screen.

If people did not use "Founders Copyright", this may not be out of lack of
support for more limited copyright terms, but perhaps had to do with the term
(is this a U.S. thing?) or how it worked. If you had to choose Founders
Copyright, or the other CC options, this may have meant just that the other
options were more attractive, and would not tell us whether people would want
both the other options and limited term.

Micaela Gallerini makes an excellent point that authors might want to
indicate a more limited copyright for all of their works rather than on a
one-off basis. This may not be for the CC license, but perhaps for a related
initiative such as open ID?
