Can't remember off-hand. But I installed a version into BL2 (disabled
java to do it), so it is possible.

No. It is a whole package or nothing.

Not MS, but it has to deal with what MS and others produce.

My DOS docx2htm processor is quite small, and may run under
Windows. But I don't have any Windows to test it on. :)

That doesn't surprise me. Docx and odt are such bloated formats it
takes a long time to process them all - most tags are redundant and are
automatically inserted whether thay are needed or not. I had to put a
progress bar into my converter so I could tell it was still working and
hadn't locked up !

Because they don't know any better. :(
