locale.dir
locale.alias
compose.dir
are all in xfree86 package but not found in BL2.
This may be related to missing characters in toolbars and menus and dialog boxes in 10.1 even after installing all dependencies.
Does anyone have a handy copy of these three files?
Not found at visualserver or cjb.net but sdf.lonestar.org has them in X11R6. Along with iso8859-1 directory containing other info.
This info appears to tell X programs which fonts to use for various languages specified in different ways such as C.en Cextend English_United_States.437 en_US.88591.en (all iso-8859-1)
and also how to compose in the specified languages.
Will report back if this helps. See http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl/locale.tgz for the three files and the iso8859-1 directory. Other stuff may also be needed.
