Hello BL community, I'm having problems with my relatively new CNet ProG-2000S. I have installed BL 3.5 with two NICs, both working fine in Windows and one of them working flawlessly with the 8139too.o driver. However, I've tried all the drivers at http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/baslinux/add-ons/2_2_26/modules/net/ and at http://slackware.cs.utah.edu/pub/slackware/slackware-4.0/modules/2.2.6/net/ - and none seems to work!
The best result I've had so far is with the 82596.o driver from slackware-4.0/modules, which recognizes the interface. However, when I try to "ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.250", I get a long error, which I will detail at the bottom of this mail. If I try using ifconfig after that, the entire terminal will become unresponsive without any error, and I haven't found any other way to snap it out than to reboot the whole system.
There are official 2.2x drivers for the card, however I have had problems compiling them. If anyone would be willing to give it a shot, I'd be very grateful. I've never compiled anything in my entire life (hail Python!). The files (kern_compat.h, rtl8169.c and readme.txt) can be found at ftp://minyaliel.com, with the username Anon AT minyaliel.com and the password Anon. Feel free to upload any binaries to the same server.
Here's the error(written by hand, so might have errors):
eth1: Shutting down ethercard, status was 0000.
eth1: close2 timed out with status 0000, cmd 0440
