Supposedly the Intel GMA 900 series works with the i810 X driver. There is a precompiled tinyX version of it (for libc5, glibc 2.0-2.4) posted at my website (search on i810):

http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl/blfiles.htm (description and links).

Or get it as part of an XtinyX binary package:

ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86 (subdirectories for different versions, binaries). libc5 and glibc 2.1 binaries are available for all versions.

I had no luck getting i810 to work in BL but list member Lee posted his success a while back. He had to upgrade BL3 to glibc X but now there is a libc5 binary to play with. The eePC should handle BL2 (at least 2GB 'hard drive' and 1GB RAM). I would upgrade to glibc 2.3.2 or later to be able to run Firefox. I would also upgrade libX11 to a version 4.0 which some programs now require.

If your eePC came with Xandros linux, see how they have it set up.

If not, try a linux live CD. (DSL did not support i810 last I checked).

Hi,
I would like to know about any xperience running BasLinux on a EeePC.
Sometime ago I heard about some problems with the vga chip included,
I think it is a Intel 915.

These Netbooks use an odd resolution of 800x480 pixels that maybe
could be difficult to setup in X window?
What about Wifi?
Thanks for your attention,
Bye!
