I have to agree with this completely.

I have high-speed cable internet, and even on my
2 GB RAM computers running other Linux distros,
on which Firefox runs fast, i've installed links2
because it eliminates so much garbage.

I find myself using links2 more than ever.
So many webpages are now filled with junk
-- advertising, eyecandy, and useless tables
and forms all over the page.  With Opera or
Firefox I wait and wait while they pull all
this junk down my dialup connection. It
takes ages to render some pages.

However, with links2, the meat is usually
up on the screen in a couple of seconds.
links2 does a remarkable job of grabbing
the text and rendering it immediately.

There are about a dozen sites I read every
day.  Half of them (mostly newspapers) are
filled with junk.  By using links2, I get
to read the story immediately, rather than
waiting 30 seconds (or longer) for Firefox
to render the text.

Bravo links2 !

Cheers,
Steven
