Hi! Czerno speaking.

First a note, I found the sbpcd.o module to have dependencies upon
cdrom.o - I had to launch both, like so :

insmod cdrom.o
insmod sbpcd.o sbpcd=0x230,1

That seemed to do it for the cdrom reader (I have yet to check that
it can indeed read a data CD).

Now, about lynx : I downloaded the lynx "2.8.5rel.1" plus the
lynx.cfg from keesan.freeshell.org, and let pkg install the stuff. As
a result, Lynx is able to browse the local file system, *but* any
attempt to browse to an internet object (URL) gives an

Alert! Unable to connect to remote host.

At the same time the built-in "links" browser is able to navigate
without restriction, which confirms networking is up.

What could be the problem with my lynx ?

I'm still obliged to boot and log in to Windows for the mailing :-(
As soon as this ssue is resolved, I hope I'll be able to use lynx
itself for connecting to Yahoo! mail (needs https) & I'll be set to
communicate with the fine people on this list, at last, from BasLin !

And yet another stoopid question : I understand the linux file system
resides on the initial ram disk; are changes saved back to the hard
disk when I log out of Linux ? They are, aren't they ?

Cheers,

--
Czerno
