Have you actually tried unclutter with BL3?
If so, what happened?

Yes. Unclutter is not there and I couldn't find a Slackware package
that had it. I believe it should be in /usr/X11R6/bin or
/usr/X11R6/lib normally.

I've just done some research on this and managed to make
some progress with the default X cursor. However, as I
understand it, the application sets the cursor image.
For example, if I null the default X cursor, it immediately
reappears as an xterm cursor when I move it into an xterm
(and disappears again when I move it out of the xterm).
So hiding the X cursor is probably not the way to go.

Some slideshow applications automatically hide the cursor
(or have this as an option). So, the question then arises:
what application are you using to display your pictures?

I am using xv at the moment and it seems to work fine (except for the
cursor). I found a way to change the cursor, but not get rid of it all
together. I tried to get ImageMagik working but ran into dependency
problems and since xv was working I didn't take it any further.

As this will be sitting on the shelf with no keyboard or mouse. There
would be nothing to move around to re-activate the cursor. Perhaps
whatever you did would work for me.

Cheers,
Steven
