Are you using Rosegarden successfully with BL3 ?

libc6 version that I think I found as an rpm is available converted to a
BL2 tgz at http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl

I already got this and it didn't run in BL3.

See my most recent posting reporting that Rosegarden appears to need a later libX11 (and other X libs that depend on X11).

So either you would need to compile libc5 X libraries form newer source code, or compile Rosegarden for libc5 X. Since Rosegarden is 1999 I would think it would compile with libc5.

An older 1999 version. The newer one has lots of dependencies. Make sure
you have the ones needed for this version. I have only used it in BL2.
You will need to add glibc from SW71 or later and maybe some other X
files.

OK, I wil try it in BL2 - which has most things from SW7.1 added to it.

But not X.

Use the older version. This one plays MIDIs poorly (staccato), use
playmidi (also from my site for BL3 and BL2).

I have timidity running very well in BL2, so I tried playmidi in BL3 and it didn't run. :(

I have the libc5 (ver 2.5) and libc6 (ver 2.4, I think) versions both working in BL2, did not try sound in BL3. If you have added libc6 to BL3, try the BL2 playmidi.

I will try to set up sound in BL3 some time soon with Christof's sound package for sb and test playmidi.

Ron

Tonight we entertained a dinner guest with the complete Goldberg Variations and 2 and 3 part inventions on the Yamaha piano, and then some Mendelssohn, Handel and Schubert via AWE.
