- Subject: [BL] Cleaning Linux BL3 DOS Loop
- Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2006 10:31:43
I run Basic Linux BL3 with CLI programs only (no X) in a 386DX40 with 8Mby
and an hercules monitor in a 10Mby loop file system.
I run MUTT, Links, MC, etc.
This loop: FS.IMG, a DOS file, has been in use for a lot of time.
I want to make a Dos Zip file of it.
To make the zip smaller I need to replace in the loop all the characters
that are no longer used by programs with the same character (asc 128).
This cannot be done in DOS as it does not know which bytes are in use.
Anyone knows of a linux script to do it ?
This script could also be used to erase all files deleted but still in the
HD.
Thanks.
