Hi Folks,
Further to my problems on getting BL2 to log-in to me "improved" ISP
server, I have just tried something different in DOS.
I am able to dial-in and log-on with the default Arachne setup for
PAP/CHAP. In Arachne, one can also show the terminal and log-in
manually. This second option always failed with the same "Authorization
failed" message as with BL2/BL3/SW9.1, when I followed the prompts and
entered username [enter] password [enter].
However, this time I just ignored the log-in prompts and pressed F7
(to load ppp) and it worked !!!!! Presumably, the username and
password had already been sent, and the server was just waiting for ppp
to start, and the log-in prompts were there for no good reason but to
confuse and frustrate.
David, is this what is meant in the wvdial documentation as "stupid
mode" ?
Now, how do I get either eznet and/or wvdial to do the same as Arachne ?
Regards,
Ron
