BL2 already comes with 'user' and a regular X server set up, which
some people need for linux classes.
I thought the X server required extra packages and a manual setup??
Just install Steven's BL2-x package which configures things for you and and includes icewm, after the 10MB or so (unpacked) of the VGA server and a few other Slackware X packages, to get minimal settings which work with any card and monitor. Unfortunately some X programs are now demanding more colors - links2, abiword, and opera 7, which is why he created an Xvesa BL3 among other reasons.
