Hah! I was first!

I can confirm the following after limited testing. This Xvesa package
works as a drop-in replacement for the Xvesa in BL3 (.32, I think).
Renaming the existing Xvesa orig-Xvesa and copying the new one into the
appropriate dir, then issuing startx results in a working gui. Looks
perfectly normal. So, there seem to be no major problems with the binary,
so far as I can tell at this point.

I also edited /etc/Xconfig to try different modes. I added x256 to the
line 640x480 to start with. Xvesa actually started fine with this
addition. Problem was, the colors were all wacko. Nonetheless I fired up
Links2 -g just to make sure the graphical browser would start where it did
not before: it worked. I was able to start and somewhat use Links2 in
graphical mode. But the colors are so haywire, it's really only a proof of
concept type thing. Next I tried adding x8 in place of x256 in
/etc/Xconfig. Same situation there: the gui fired up, and I was able to
start Links2 in graphical mode. But the colors are so wacked out it's not
useable for anything other than to prove the binary works and does allow
for more color depths than the old binary.

End of report. Great work, Steven!

James
