I am trying to transfer all of BL2 (tar/gzip all the files

At /proc/bus/pci/00/07.3 the tar process stalls

You should not copy the /proc directory. The files contained
in it do not really exist (but they occupy a huge amount of
space if you try to copy them).

I noticed - 67MB for kcore.

The temp.tgz transfer method was explained by Steven:
On source computer, load Bl2, make temp.tgz:
tar -zcvf * temp.tgz

On source computer, load *ramdisk* BL2 and copy your source
partition from there. It is best to copy a partition when
it is not currently running as root filesystem.

Do you mean that I should load ramdisk BL2 and tar the files on the hard disk from there?

Thanks!

Cheers,
Steven
