Thanks again, Steven!

I am slowly (!) learning a little.

I made the two 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2
They ping each other just fine!

Now, how to have each computer "see" the other, like they do in Windows
with Netbeui, via the two NICs and a crossover cable.

I tried "receive" and "send", but got 'Connection refused' or some such
message.

I was thinking there's a small simple way to do it, but you had referred me
to Samba? Was it http://ftp.tiscali.de/pub/slackware/slackware-
7.1/slakware/n8/samba.tgz? It's 5.5 Mb - do I really need all that to use
with BL? (which was only about a 3Mb download itself, as I recall)
Would that include a client to let the Linux machine see the Windows one?

Anyhow, Samba seems to have to do with Linux <-> Windows? which I would
like to do, and I did ask that originally.
But now I'm at what should be (?) a simpler task, getting two PCs running
BL to see each other's files, allow transfers, etc etc?

I see there's something called "nfs"?

Any comments will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Sheldon Isaac
