Thank you VERY much for being so helpful: problem is solved!

I posted to netaxs.general and to netaxs.helpdesk newsgroups, and a couple
of knowlegeable users came through, whereas the "support" staff there did
nothing for me.

What I had to do is put "sisaac AT netaxs.com" in my eznet.conf.
(fastnet has sort of absorbed netaxs)

I will get on-line and grab one of the messages.

As to why plain "sisaac" worked before, I don't know - there's been a lot
of 'repair' work going on, and their mail and other things were inoperative

for a while - I heard the floods of junk mail were causing problems.
