Yes, I think you're right on that: I was being a bit vague (not being
completely certain how it works anyway). Certainly the right binaries
need to be installed, and sometimes some configuration of MC is required
(telling it which executable to associate with which files). Someday I'll
work more extensively with MC configuration and will have those sorts of
details ready-to-hand in instances like this (if senility doesn't set in
first, and if people in that distant era are still asking these sorts of
questions).
