James Christian:

Jerusalem was never called Salem. Jerusalem has always been called by
some version of "Jerusalem". The Salem in chapter 14 of Genesis has nothing
to do with Jerusalem.

The Patriarchal narratives never mention Jerusalem. That's because the
Patriarchal narratives are so old that Jerusalem was not a Hebrew city in
the
Patriarchal Age, much less a Hebrew holy city.

If the Patriarchal narratives except chapter 14 of Genesis were 1st
millennium BCE fiction, as university scholars would have it, it seems
unbelievable that they never mention Jerusalem, and never say that Jerusalem
will be
an integral part of the Promised Land for the Hebrews. That's showing the
true antiquity of the composition of the Patriarchal narratives, back in
the day when Jerusalem was Abdi-Heba's pagan city (with 318 taxpaying pagan
citizens).
