Has anyone ever heard of these? Out of curiosity, I came across this oneI have heard of Gertoux, and have corresponded with him. He seems to know what he is talking about in most cases. There is quite a lot of relevant material on his website http://gertoux.online.fr/divinename/ (in English, or http://gertoux.online.fr/nomdivin/ in French) including sample passages on the "How to GET the book" tab as well as in the FAQ. There is presumably more in his book, which I have not seen.
day. Anyone ever heard of this guy, Gertoux?
"The word Yahowah has never been used in any Bibles. The (fanciful) grammatical pattern
which involves a change a to e has never existed. In actual fact, before 1100 CE , the Tetragram
has been pointed with only the two vowels e, a of the Aramaic word Shema which means "The
Name".The vowel o appeared, after 1100 CE , owing to the influence of the reading of the
word Adonay."

However, he is not quite correct in the above: the vowel o (holam) which he mentions appears in the Leningrad Codex of 1008/9 CE in a small minority of cases. Also, while it is true that the vowel sequence sheva, qamats is that of the Aramaic word Shema, that by no means implies that that was the intended pronunciation - after all, there are hundreds of other words with that vowel pattern.
