But these are not "in the LXX tradition". Aquila is rather a deliberate rejection of the LXX in favour of a hyper-literal translation, which I suppose made the same mistake as Shoshanna in reading contemporary meanings of verb forms back into biblical Hebrew.

The LXX as represented by Rahlfs does not really translate EHYEH ASHER EHYEH literally, but attempts to interpret it: EGW EIMI hO WN, "I am The Being [=Existing One]." ...


I never said it did. But the first EHYEH is translated literally: EGW EIMI. This proves that LXX does not consistently translate EHYEH as future.
