What was referred to in the Kuntillet Ajrud Inscription as a "male organ is
a tail; both the YHWH figure and his asherah have tails. They're in the
wrong position to be male organs.
What's more, the asherah figure has breasts.
asherah is best translated as "spouse".
Kuntillet Ajrud may or may not have been outside the Israelite settlement
area; but YHWH is called "YHWH of Samaria", meaning that Israelites
worshipped there.
