Dear Sergio,

The very first appearance of the name "Miriam" in the OT is pronounced
Miryam, and it is pronounced that way through the OT. In the NT the Greek
"Mary" is pronounced "Maria." "Samuel" seems to be pronounced "Semuel"
throughout the OT.
