Dear Rolf,

Your explanation of Nimrod as an earlier form of Marduk also
makes nice sense for why the proverb is quoted "Like Nimrod,
a mighty hunter before the Lord." I.e. Nimrud, the man that
later became the "chief god" of the Babylon pantheon, was
actually known in his own lifetime as "a mighty hunter
before the Lord" (the one true God).

Perhaps some nice sarcasm?
