sounds like the netconf bug. it was the 2.6.3 kernel ISO ?

yes, after
"Install Source Mage GNU/Linux to disk"
there is still (now, in the new world order)
"Oops, I really need to compile a custom kernel"
which would have installed perl if it wasn't already (moot as people seem to
think it should be installed by default), then comes
"reconfigure bootloader"
incase you decide to write to MBR after all, followed by
" Choose services to run at boot"

I think that covers all the options doesn't it ?
