ASTM International (formerly the American Society for Testing and Materials) sets the performance standards for most recreational safety equipment. SEI certifies that the product offered for sale meets or exceeds those standards at time of manufacture.  Therefore, an SEI test label cites an ASTM standard and is required to meet most

US sanctioning body requirements.  Some will accept British equipment with appropriate labels but not having SEI test results.

Proper fit is essential to the helmet’s performance.  Troxels come in sizes, some other do or come small, medium, large, and others come with adjusters for the headband.

By the way, Committee F32, Search and Rescue will be meeting in Charlotte NC next Saturday, June 2 at the University Hilton where the NASAR meeting is being held.
