All I know is that an email came out from Jacki Golike (NASAR Executive Director) indicating that FEMA would welcome NASAR personnel who chose to make themselves available for response to FL. Apparently some chose to make themselves available.

Going through the NIMS process for the call-out, we were advised by CA Service Corps (our State coordinator for Citizen Corps - used to be called GoServ) that "CERT Instructors, CERT graduates, and Search and Rescue" were acceptable to FEMA for this disaster assignment.

I'd suggest that this is the same as putting down Tulare SAR in the space
for "What Organization". We were all asked to coordinate through our local
Citizen Corps Council. I do not believe it indicates that FEMA is
recognizing NASAR as an organization that responds to incidents.

NASAR isn't a response organization. I really hope they're not getting into
the response business, at least not without a lot of discussion with their
membership.

I, for one, am not paying membership dues to NASAR to deploy to disasters.
