We have the same problem Vince, which actually has led to another
problem. Depending on who is doing the call-out depends on whether or
not we get called. Some have called us previously to come mounted and we
have refused. They remember that and don't call us again. What they
don't remember is that we refused because of a safety issue- too steep,
too dark, too icy, etc. We are more than willing to do a mounted night
search in an area that our team members have at least a passing
familiarity with OR an area that has up-to-date and quality topos.
Otherwise we'll come on foot. We are always educating the powers that
be! <g>
