Here in Raleigh, I heard exploding gunpowder twice last year in the parking lot of the NC State computer building across the street from my house after testosterone- and alcohol-induced behavior took place at 2:30 AM.

BFE would suit me fine about now.

I like Raleigh well enough, and would probably like it even more had I lived closer to downtown.  True, I did live in BFE!!!!!!!  Culture out there consisted of a wild turkey flock stubbornly refusing to move out of the driveway in the morning or the distant sounds of exploding gunpowder during hunting season.

That's because you used to live in East BF, Greg. :)

Raleigh's got plenty: the N.C. Symphony, N.C. Museum of Art (granted,
both state entities). a strong parks department, a greenway system
second to none, a lively downtown, relatively low crime, and great
schools. What's not to like?
