Didn't work. I now have a failed Debian install and a failed Source Mage install on the same disk.

I did, however, apparently get grub to install successfully on /boot (which is hda1). I also temporarily moved the /boot files to /home/boot so that Debian wouldn't overwrite them, and the grub on MBR no longer shows a speckled font. Can I still get it to boot Source Mage?
