Well I have now cast the cvs version cdrdao successfully(I think). The
compile gets a lot of "no such file or directory" errors(warnings?). The
install log shows cdrdao being installed.

Apparently I some how got a bad /var/spool/sorcery/cdrdao.tar.bz2 file
created
on my first attempts. I tried the cast of cvs cdrdao on my main 2.4.24
system and it cast OK. I went back to my 2.6.1 system and tried again. It
told me "cdrdao.tar.bz2" already exist so use it and of course failed. I
removed the cdrdao.tar.bz2 file and a recast on 2.6.1 worked. I don't know
what I did to cause it to fail at first or what I did to make it work after
the removal of the corrupted cdrdao.tar.bz2 file.

Anyways xcdroast and k3b both work well on 2.6.1 w/o scsi emulation.
However,
arson can't find the ATAPI burner so it won't work yet. Bummer, arson is my
favourite.
