All right, i have a much improved version of my submit script. It includes
most of the things i talked about.

the tarball is attached (and i made it correctly this time!...i hope)
current is always availible at ftp://t.armory.com/submit

I recommend running it crippled with the -c option so it just says what
it will do, the options follow:

$submit
Sumbit attempts to submit a new spell to the source mage team

Example: submit -g qmail mail
Usage: cast [parameters] spell section

Optional Parameters:

-c|-C | --cripple Cripple the program so it just says
the command it uses to mail, instead of
actually running it.

-g | --gzip Use gzip compression
-y|-j|-I | --bzip|--bzip2 Use bzip2 compression (default)

-l | --list address Use alternate submit list
(default sm-spell-submit AT lists.ibiblio.org

-N | --New Use New in the subject line (default)
-U | --Updated Use Updated in the subject line
-M | --Modified Use Modified in the subject line

-t | --tardir directory Alternate location to make the spell
tarfile (default /tmp)
-k | --keeptar Keep tarfile after execution? (default no)

-n | --noeditor Don't use an editor (variable EDITOR)
instead use cat (useful in scripting)
$

Ideas im working with:
more sorcerous name. Im thinking 'offer' ideas?

override subject line completely

mime support as well as uuencode (suggestions welcome on how to do this)

support for people without an MTA (someone want to help me with this,
ive never run a system that uses pop or imap)

fix bug so you dont have to be in the same directory

multiple spells sam section
multiple spells different section
not sure how im going to do those last two, or if its worth the effort

anything else? any bugs? thanks for the interest.

Andrew
