Hi,
I'm trying to get a clean, working install of SourceMage going and like
others, I'm having problems getting there. I was actually considering
following the Linux From Scratch instructions, but adding the sorcery
package management while I was at it.
My question is: what are the major differences between the two? (Aside
from the whole spell stuff... I'm aware that I'd probably end up having to
recast everything I install manually.) The main thing that comes to mind
is differences in directory structure between what's used in LFS and
what's used in SourceMage. Has anyone attempted this before? If so, were
they succesful and do they have any tips?
If I succeed in doing this, it would give me a big understanding of how
SourceMage works and I might be able to turn around and apply it to the
install ISO. (Or maybe I'll just write up a SMFS HOW-TO :)
