well the reason i brought this whole 'silly' naming thing up is that i
was telling my friend about this 'submit' script im writing for source
mage. He is very interested in SMGL and wants to install when he upgrades
harware. I told him the name was submit and he asked why it doesnt have a
cool name like everything else 'cast' 'gaze' etc. So that immediatly tells
me that if he just heard the name he wouldnt take it to mean 'to make one
submit to authority' he takes it to mean 'submit this file here' which we
both agreed is lame, and why i bothered asking. I dont really care _that_
much either way, i just rather have a name that seems cool to end users.

in contrast to the argument about how mandrake users get confused i would
think they'd get just as confused if you tried to tell them how debian
packages work. or heck even rpm's heaven forbid theres no GUI, look at
lunar linux they pretty much have gone with the lpd naming scheme lrm
lv etc, how easy is that to remember? we have a mnemonic and believe it
or not, that makes it easier to think about and remember.
