Nothing is being removed until there is a working gnome 2 version of it
or all agree it is not being used. Gtk+ and glib won't be going away as
there spells that depend on them without using gnome1 at all.
As for VLC that it why I suggested removing the gnome1 option but
leaving the gtk+ and only removing it once the gtk+2 and gnome2 options
are working.
That brings up another question. Are the spells that get depricated
going to be kept somewhere that is someone really needs can get it as an
individual spell so as not to have to recreate it?
These are the authors I have heard from so far..
cheops-ng - I dont have any plans yet.. heres the problem: do i keep
fooling with a linux only solution, or do i try to port things over to a
cross platform widget set like wxWindows (which I already have a bunch
of experience with)
gRustibus - Eventually, yes. The work on porting to gnome2 (and
hig'ifying) have started, but other projects have priority right now, so
it might take some time.
frontline - Not yet. I have no time to work on frontline.
GTKsubtitler - Maybe some day. I think about re-write GTKsubtitler in
java and make it more accessible to other platforms users (like Windows,
MacOS ... ), but it doesn't meat that it will not be ported to gnome2.
