Whether or not grub is an exception rather than the rule, I belive we
should still move the patches out of the grimoire.

Here is why (and I only counted patch and diff files, not any other
extraneous file [like .sh]):

That is how much of our grimoire those two types of files are taking up
(I've included the file I used to calculate this, created with 'l -R|grep
[patch,diff]' in /var/lib/sorcery/codex/devel/, though it doesn't contain
the directory structure, just the filenames). That is 33.3% of our
grimoire! Over a third! (heh, I like sounding redundant, must be my few
MIS classes kicking in ;)).

So, it appears that removing the patches will clear this up quite a bit
(though grub accounts for 52.6% of the patch/diff makeup).
