I also advovate changing
"depends linux" from to "optional_depends LINUX"

like how several X spells provide "X" services within sorcery
why not make spells optional when they may be skipped within sorcery
and actually allow for externally made

Nothing does, or ever shall, depend on the linux spell. That spell is
for your convenience, but we most definitely want our packages to work
if someone builds and installs their own kernel.
