Hi,
Last week I brought up an issue about compiling xfree86 using gcc3. I
think it was decided that xfree86 was to be compiled using gcc2. Is this
true?

XFree86 compiled just fine for me with gcc3. I don't think we should be too quick to force it to compile with gcc2 again, since it does work with gcc3. We may just need to play around with the optimizations a bit more.

but I will agree, the optimizations are being sent twice in my compile log.

gcc -march=pentium3 -mmmx -mfpmath=sse -msse -O3 -Os -march=pentium3 -mmmx -mfpmath=sse -msse -O3 -Os
