I should also add on my list of essentials, though it's just hanging up in
the shed and not getting much action, is a cross-cut saw. I'll use a chainsaw
while I can to cut firewood, fell trees, etc, but one of these days I'm going
to need to pull out that crosscut saw. I see the process of using and
sharpening crosscuts to be a real valuable skill for anyone wanting to cut
firewood in the future.
