Saw sneak preview of The Last Mountain featuring Robert F Kennedy Jr and
Goldman
award winning local activist Maria Gunnoe. Shows the beauty of Appalachia,
the
impacts on habitat, communities, and water over a vast area of the Appalachia
range and the US of mountaintop removal, the politics in West Virginia and
the
power of the coal lobby there, the politics behind Obama's support for
mountaintop removal and then modification of that support through the US EPA,
and the promise of utility scale wind power.

Recommend for any one who wants to learn about how environment and community
are
interwoven, how so-called environmental reclamation after huge human-caused
impacts may just be a cover for leaving devastation behind, and how wind
power
can help the economy by building the tax base since it doesn't have the tax
breaks that coal gets.
