Stott
with mealy bug I only have outside advice. I use to fight the Mealy bug on cherimoya and I use to take tangle foot and put on some tape and wrap around the tree. It was to stop the ants. if you have mealy bug look for ant problem. sugar and boric acid is good for ants in such little boric acid it does not kill fast and they take it back to the queen. I set the bait away from the green house so as to draw them out . get rid of the ants and I think the mealy bug will be knocked out by benificials. that's been my experience anyway. darn ants heard them like cows and protect them from benificals also they got the mealy bug destroyer. a lady bird that eats the mealy bug like candy. they are fun to watch and the larva look like big mealy bugs but eat them also. hehe

Subject: [permaculture] White flies in the greenhouse

After reading the aphid in the GH thread, I thought I would ask about a
similar problem I am having, white flies.

White flies tend to be a persistent problem in my GH, worse in the
warmer months, almost disappearing in winter but they always reappear
the next spring. I've tried various things: yellow sticky cards, soap
sprays, etc but nothing seems that effective for any length of time.
Without continuous battle the white flies quickly rebuild their
population levels.

Any thoughts about control methods or predators that would be effective
in a year round cool temp GH?

TIA
