Sorry All,I totally fell off the planet with a lot of work on upcoming PDC's
and today-2 new goats!
Re the copyright of the word permaculture, I gave them this
link.http://www.permaculture.org/nm/images/uploads/PC_Academy_YearBook.pdf
Pg 18, 1st paragraph, last sentence.
Ownership of the copyright is equally invested (by Bill
Mollison) in the Permaculture Institutes and its graduates from a
Certificated Permaculture Course. It cannot be given away except to graduates.
I think it's pretty clear. Even if the ideas have changed-this is the spirit
of what Bill started-and what I was taught in my PDC. It's and honor and a
privilege, not a free way to make money.
That phone number was listed as private.

I have a question for anyone out there who has ever been part of organizing
or teaching a design course.
How do you handle the ORGANIZATIONAL end of it all? I mean things like
advertising, web support, fliers, site coordination, food and cook
coordination, logistics, registration, class layout, handout printing,
accounting, budgets, tax forms, etc. etc.
Do you pay someone to do it? Expect farm owners to do all of it? Do you ever
hire out a venue to teach? (meaning teacher asks venue, not venue asks
teacher).
Teachers, do you do ALL of that yourselves?
To me this is the meat and bones of teaching new people and keeping new blood
in permaculture.
Thanks!!Isabel

There was once a potluck covering a 4 county area, once a month. I hear
mention of permaculture in local lists and news from time to time and
there's some kind of online permaculture group for the
Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area but it seems to be inactive.

Maybe good to start a new one and actually have potlucks or field trips
or whatever.

Any ideas?
